Name: Hamza Ahmad Haddad

Qualifications:

1-        LL.B. (University of Damascus, 1971).

 2-        LL.M. and Doctor of Laws (Cairo University, 1976).

 3-        Ph.D. in Commercial Law (University of Bristol, 1985).

 Experience:

-     Lecturer of civil and commercial law at the University of Jordan (1976-1985).

-     Former Dean of Faculty of Law (University of Jordan).

-    Legal Consultant and Attorney at law (1985-present).

-     Part-time lecturer of law at many academic institutions in Jordan and other Arab Countries such as Saint-Joseph University in Lebanon, the Judicial Institute in Dubai, and Ain Shams Arbitration Centre in Cairo.

-     Partner and manger of the Law and Arbitration Center since its establishment in Amman, Jordan, 1985, and, the Arab Institute for Arbitration and ADR (Amman- Jordan).

-     Member of Governors' Board of Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA); Member of Board of Trustees of Dubai International Arbitration Centre; Former Member of Arab-Swiss Counsel for Commercial Arbitration.

-     Under Secretary General of Arab Union of Arbitration.

-     Conciliator representing Jordan on the list of the ICSID.

-     Former Minister of Justice in Jordan.

-     Attorney at law (1985-present).

Arbitration Cases: 

Involved in dozens of cases relating to international commercial arbitration as an expert, attorney at law, co-arbitrator or chairman of panel (ad hoc and institutional) including ICC, CRCICA and ICSID Cases.

Writings:

Author of more than seventy articles and working papers in arbitration in Arabic and/or English, including the first edition of his book on "Arbitration in Arab Countries, Al-Halabi Publication, Beirut, 2007".

Conferences and Seminars:

-           Attendant of more than eighty conferences, seminars and training programs on commercial arbitration and was a speaker at most of the same.

-           Organizers of many training programs an commercial arbitration in different Arab Countries.
